Pose outside Da Nang Cathedral

Fondly referred to as Rooster Church, owing largely to the fact that a weathercock can be seen on the church’s steeple, Da Nang Cathedral (Con Ga Church) is unquestionably one of the primary reasons as to why travellers call by Da Nang. Having seen the light of day in 1923 for the benefit of the city’s French community, Da Nang Cathedral boasts a slew of features that would be too good to look beyond. Aside from its candy pink exterior and large clock that adorns its entrance, Da Nang Cathedral is as detailed a cultural landmark that you will find in this section of Vietnam. Inspect facets of Gothic architecture and impressive stained-glass windows that will have you longing to remain for as long as time permits.

Showcasing well over 300 sculptures that celebrate the very essence of the Cham people, this heritage site is an outstanding way to get your head around the nuances of the former Cham Empire that flourished between the 2nd and 19th century in both central and southern Vietnam. Browse through a rich array of ancient artwork, pottery, and sculpture for one fascinating and thought provoking take on a nation’s legacy.

Make wonderful memories along My Khe Beach

Easily one of the better things to do in Da Nang Vietnam is experiencing the brilliance of My Khe Beach. Found under 20 minutes from Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang, beach bums will be in their elements no sooner they arrive, given the amount of leisure facilities available. You may rent a sunbed for between 50,000 to 100,000 Vietnamese Dong before heading for the water, learn to kayak or windsurf from professional instructors or simply stay on dry ground and join the locals in a game of beach volleyball. Better yet, stay on till evening, walk hand in hand with that special someone while enjoying a delightful sunset before beelining for the nearest beach eatery for an appetising dinner of sizzling squid, grilled prawns, and steamed crabs that will have you salivating at the ends.

Traverse through Han Market

Accessible from any part of the city, as a result of the four main roads that border it, the busy Han Market will come across as a great way to round off your travels in Da Nang. Open everyday from 6 am to 7 pm, Han Market is where you can mix, mingle, capture snapshots of how the Vietnamese go about their daily routines, and essentially, shop for a plethora of products under one roof. Fermented pastes are a standout and include pickled sour shrimp (mam tom chua), shrimp paste (mam ruoc), and mam nem (fermented anchovy sauce), which will only cost you in the range of VND 50,000 – 120,000 per jar. Also, the marketplace is where you can get your hands on a wide spectrum of ready to ware attire, including Vietnam’s national dress – the Ao Dai. Exceptionally and carefully crafted handbags, jewellery boxes, placemats, and baskets will never be too far away from your eyes, which would make for good souvenir ideas for family and friends back home.
