The best place to start your journey is in Muscat, and make your way to Jebel Akhdar, known as the green mountain. This place is ideal to stay for the night because you can lodge at an Oman resort there. It is a 2.5-hour drive, covering around 150km. The Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar will be the ideal place to crash for the night after a long drive, especially with its luxurious offerings at affordable rates. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Mutrah Souq are great places you can visit before you start your road trip.
Day 2: Jebel Akhdar to Nizwa
Continue your journey to Nizwa, one of Oman’s most historic cities. It is located 50km away and will take around an hour to reach. Both the Nizwa Fort and Souq are great places to visit on your trip. You can end your journey there and return to Muscat or continue further.
